ಸುತ್ತಿ ಸುತ್ತುವ ಖಗವ ಗೂಡ ನೆನಪೆಳೆಯುವುದು |
ಗೊತ್ತುನೂಲ್ ಪಿಡಿದಿಹುದು ದನವ ಬಯಲಿನಲಿ ||
ತತ್ತ್ವವೊಂದರ ಹಿಡಿತಕೊಗ್ಗದಿಹ ಬಾಳೇನು? |

Translator's note: The choice of words by the poet is amazing. Every word used is profound and adds many dimensions to the quatrains.

      Though 'nirmitraniralu kali', means 'learn to be friendless', I have chosen to translate it as  'learn to savour solitude' because the poet, I felt, is talking of the significance of solitude, which gets more emphasis in the above interpretation. As always, open to debate.
