ನೊತ್ತಟ್ಟಿಗಿಡುವೆನೆನೆ, ನಷ್ಟವಾರಿಗೊ ಮರುಳೆ? |
ಬತ್ತುವುದು ನಿನ್ನಾತ್ಮ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ||

pratyEka sukhava, nIm pratyEka sampadava- |
natyaasheyindarasi mikkella jagava- ||
nottaTTigiDuvenene, naShTavaarigo maruLe? |
battuvudu ninnatma - mankutimma ||

Private happiness, personnel wealth when thou
Pursue with all desire and decide to keep away
The entire world, who is at loss, O fool?
Thy soul dries up - Mankutimma.
