ಎಡರು ತೊಡರೆನಲೇಕೆ? ಬಿಡಿಸು ಮತಿಗಾದನಿತ |
ದುಡಿ ಕೈಯಿನಾದನಿತು; ಪಡು ಬಂದ ಪಾಡು ||
ಬಿಡು ಮಿಕ್ಕುದನು ವಿಧಿಗೆ; ಬಿಡದಿರುಪಶಾಂತಿಯನು |
ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೆ ದಾರಿಯದು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ||

eDaru toDarenalEke? biDisu matigaadaita |
duDi kaiyinaadanitu; paDu banda paaDu ||
biDu mikkudanu vidhige; biDadirupashaantiyanu |
biDugaDege daariyadu - mankutimma ||

Why complain of obstacles? Solve as much mind can,
Work as much hands can, Face the plight as it comes,
Leave the rest to providence; never leave tranquility.
That is the way to liberation - Mankutimma.

ಏನನೋ ನೆನೆದು ಸರ್ರೆಂದು ಹಾರುವುದು ||
ಬಾನೊಳಾಡುವ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಿದುವೆ ನಿತ್ಯಾನುಭವ |
ನೀನದನು ಮೀರಿಹೆಯ? - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ||

eno kaNNanu piDivudEno digilaagipudu |
enanO nenedu sarrendu haaruvudu ||
baanoLaaDuva hakkigiduve nityaanubhava |
nInadanu mIriheya? - mankutimma ||

Some sight catches the eye, something causes fear,
Something is reminded and it takes off in hurry.
Thus is the routine of the bird that flies in sky,
Are thou beyond such routine? - Mankutimma.

ಇಕ್ಕುವರದಾರದನು ಕರೆದು ತಿರುಪೆಯನು? ||
ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಪೋದಂತಲೆದು, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದುದನುಣ್ಣುವುದು |
ತಕ್ಕುದಾ ವ್ರತ ನಿನಗೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ||

hakki munnariyuvude tanna payaNada terana? |
ikkuvaradaaradanu karedu tirupeyanu? ||
rekke pOdantaledu, sikkidudanuNNuvudu |
takkudaa vrata ninage - mankutimma ||

Will the bird know beforehand the path it traverses?
Who will call it and feed it with the left overs?
Wanders where the wings carry, Feeds on what it gets.
Suitable to thou too is this ritual - Mankutimma.
