ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಜಗವಂತು ತತ್ತ್ವಜ್ಞಾನ ಸೋಕೆ ||
ತೊಟ್ಟಿಹುದು ಲೋಕರೂಪವ, ತಾತ್ತ್ವಿಕನ ವೃತ್ತಿ |
ಕಟ್ಟದವನಾತ್ಮವನು - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ||

A rope burnt into ashes is only a rope in form
So is the strong world when touched by philosophy
Wears the form of world, the job of a philosopher
Doesn't bind his soul though - Mankutimma
