ಎದೆಯನುಕ್ಕಾಗಿಸಾನಿಸು ಬೆನ್ನ, ತುಟಿಯ ಬಿಗಿ |
ವಿಧಿಯಗಸ, ನೀಂ ಕತ್ತೆ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ||

vidhiya horegaLanu tappisikoLuvanellihanu? |
bedarikeyanadarinda nIgipanu sakhanu ||
edeyanukkagisaanisu benna, tuTiya bigi |
vidhiyagasa, nIm katte - mankutimma ||

Where is he who can escape the burdens of destiny?

taapisute taNiyisute kulukisute rutuvaidya |
bhUpuTadi jIvarasagaLa pacisuvante ||
paapiyam prOtsahisi sukrutiya parIkShisuta |
vEpipanu vidhi namma - mankutimma ||

The doctor of seasons heats, cools, shakes 
As he perfects the essences of life on earth.
Encouraging evil, examining good deeds
So does providence tremble us - Mankutimma.
